Cummings School of Architecture at Roger Williams University

Woburn, MA – Cummings Properties has pledged $20 million to Roger Williams University. This commitment will support multidisciplinary programming at the newly rededicated Cummings School of Architecture.

A new Cummings Institute for Real Estate is centered within Cummings School of Architecture. This new institute will integrate the legal, financial, and environmental considerations of real estate development with the aesthetic and practical principles of architecture, preservation, and urban and regional planning.

“This is a first-in-the-nation program to offer such a distinctive combination of subjects,” said Roger Williams University president Ioannis Miaoulis, Ph.D. “Powered by this historic partnership, Cummings School of Architecture will serve as a catalyst for the university’s continued and growing success in preparing students to be leaders in all facets of sustainable and equitable design, preservation, and development.”

Students at the Cummings School may pursue professional certificates as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees. According to Miaoulis, this expanded programming “aligns perfectly with Bill Cummings’ professional legacy and the entrepreneurial spirit of his entire organization.”
