Is the work-from-home grind beginning to feel stale? Are you looking for a boost of inspiration? Or, let’s face it, are you a CPSM needing to earn some CEUs and are finding it hard without your traditional meetings and conferences on the docket?
Well, CPSM community, there is no time like the present to reinforce your skills, to elevate your game, and to find new ways to keep your firm on the leading edge as we navigate these unprecedented times. With even more online resources available than before, SMPS is making it easier for us to invigorate our daily routine and earn those CEUs! Here’s how you can work towards your recertification remotely rather than traditional in-person methods:
Read: Feed your mind with an enriching Marketer article and earn CEUs! Read a featured article, respond to the series of questions based on the article, and earn one CEU. The Marketer articles and questions are in the library under the CPSM Community group in the “Recertification Materials” folder on mysmps.org.
Write: Put your Pulitzer Prize writing talents to use! Did you know that CPSMs can earn one CEU for every 500 words published per article or book? This includes articles or other industry publications whose content covers any of the six Domains of Practice and is available to the general professional and marketing community. Pick a topic in your area of expertise, or step outside your comfort zone and research something new and share your findings! Visit here for more information and for the Writing documentation form.
Watch: If scanning Netflix is wearing you thin, scan SMPS’ robust library of archived webinars and earn CEUs instead! Webinars older than a year (based on when they were originally broadcasted) are currently free to CPSMs and worth 1.5 CEUs each. Go here, login, and look for the green “Register (Free!)” button to access archived webinars free of charge. Additionally, SMPS Lunchtime Learning Labs are always free and worth one CEU each. Access these through the SMPS Marketing Resource Center. Because webinars and Lunchtime Learning Labs are covered under general CEU programming there is no limit on the number of CEUs you can earn per recertification period.
Present: Share your knowledge and position yourself as an expert! CPSMs can earn one CEU for each hour speaking or moderating, and one CEU for every two hours of research and preparation for their presentation/speaking sessions. While we are likely not heading to conferences any time soon, virtual programming, such as Lunchtime Learning Labs or Webinars, are great presentation alternatives. Additionally, presenting a session for your local CPSM study group is another good way to earn CEUs. Go here for more information and for the Speaker documentation form.
