Kaplan Construction Hires New Safety Director

Boston – Kaplan Construction announced that Mathew Ash has joined the firm as safety director.

Ash is responsible for developing and maintaining Kaplan’s environmental health and safety program, ensuring safety compliance in the field, and conducting employee training. He analyzes incident reports to uncover trends and better implement preventative measures. His experience includes a 21-year career in the U.S. Coast Guard, and most recently, serving as a senior safety manager for Suffolk Construction.

As senior safety manager for Suffolk Construction, Ash oversaw safety operations on a wide range of ground-up construction projects, including those in the gaming, commercial, and educational sectors. He holds a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and is a certified CPR/first aid instructor through the National Safety Council (NSC).
