DiPrete Engineering Announces New Principals

Brandon Carr

Cranston, RI – DiPrete Engineering announced the promotion of Brandon Carr, PE, LEED AP; Sheryl Guglielmo; and Gregg Burnett to principal.

Carr joined DiPrete in 2007 after working with the Massachusetts Highway Department. Representatives of the firm say Carr has been an integral part of the DiPrete team for 15 years and has played a significant role in client development and project success. In his new role, Carr will be responsible for helping to shape the overall direction of the firm to bring greater value to the firm’s clients and team members. He will continue to maintain his existing client relationships and oversight on engineering projects.

Representatives of DiPrete Engineering say Guglielmo has been an integral member of the DiPrete team for 17 years and has made significant contributions to the company’s success. In her new role, she will lead the firm’s Client Experience (CX) Strategy which includes the implementation of a training and development program for the firm’s project managers. The goal of the CX initiative is for the firm to excel in creating extraordinary client experiences by turning client feedback into repeatable processes.

Sheryl Guglielmo

Burnett is an accomplished civil engineer with over 20 years of experience. In his two years at DiPrete, he has developed new client relationships, implemented the firm’s new leadership development program, and assisted with growing the firm’s talent pool. In his new role, Burnett will continue to provide leadership, build strategic partnerships, and focus on new business opportunities in key markets outside of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

As a civil engineer registered in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire, Carr has led the engineering design and permitting of many high-profile engineering projects. His project portfolio includes multifamily, industrial, and retail projects such as multiple 100-to-300-unit housing developments in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine; Yale Appliance’s new 200,000sf office, warehouse and showroom in Norton, Mass.; and a 5-story, 100-room hotel in Dedham, Mass. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a LEED Accredited Professional with the United States Green Building Council.

Throughout her tenure at DiPrete, Guglielmo has volunteered her time with organizations such as the ACE Mentor Program, American Planning Association, Women in Transportation, and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Next Generation Boston Chapter. Most recently, she served for five years as a member of the City of Attleboro Planning Board. The firm’s representative say she played a key role in bringing DiPrete Engineering to the Massachusetts market. She will continue to lead and mentor a team of engineers on land development projects in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. These include a large-scale electric vehicle charging program, redevelopment of retail areas at different scales from large projects like the Garden City Shopping Center in Cranston, R.I. to multiple neighborhood C-Stores with Shell-branded fueling facilities, and industrial building construction.

Burnett joined DiPrete in 2021 after working as a civil department manager for a national civil engineering firm. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and earned his credentials as a Certified Development, Design, and Construction Professional (CDP). He is the lead on multiple large-scale engineering projects throughout Massachusetts including a roll-out program for a national fast-food franchise in the Cape Cod, Boston, and Worcester areas, multiple large industrial warehouse developments throughout the MetroWest area, and the civil engineering on-call for the Springfield Technical Community College. His expertise lies with clients who have a desire to expand their corporate footprint in a targeted geographic region.

“Brandon’s ability to understand a client’s business, what that client needs, and how to help that client be successful is unique and impressive,” said Dennis DiPrete, president of DiPrete Engineering. “He brings a broad range of knowledge to the table. The depth of his engineering and permitting skills are the reason he is a trusted partner and advisor to his clients. He is a mentor to others at DiPrete Engineering who aspire to reach this level of value to their clients.”

“Sheryl has a unique ability to understand what her clients need to be successful.” said DiPrete. “Whether it be engineering, strategy, organization, or communication, she has found a way to become a valuable extension of their team. She understands that the most valuable engineers know a lot more than just engineering and she is a leader in making this part of the culture at DiPrete Engineering.”

“Built over two decades of experience, training, and mentoring, Gregg has a solid understanding of how to assemble an engineering team to maximize client success,” said DiPrete. “Gregg’s success in corporate roll outs and working in new territories stems from his ability to adapt and put colleagues in the appropriate position to succeed. Gregg recognized that he could scale this skill and translate it to success for clients with large portfolios within multiple territories. We are excited to see Gregg apply this methodology here at DiPrete to help our entire firm be successful.”
