Boston – HGA has named Chris Martin, AIA, LEED AP as national science & technology market sector leader; Leila Kamal, AIA, LEED AP national higher education market sector leader; and Candice Barter, AIA, NCARB, EDAC healthcare practice group leader.
Martin, principal, was instrumental in the conceptual planning and design of MIT.nano at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a 2021 AIA COTE Top Ten Honor Award winner. He also led the design teams on research and engineering facilities at Boston University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Pittsburgh and Florida State University, as well as The Broad Institute and AstraZeneca.
Kamal joined HGA Boston as a principal in 2020. Her client work includes projects for Bowdoin College, UMass Amherst, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dartmouth College, University of Michigan, and Hamilton College. Kamal also serves on the Board of Overseers of the Boston Children’s Museum, and is a mentor for MITdesignX at MIT School of Architecture and Planning.
Since establishing HGA’s Healthcare practice in Boston, Barter, principal, continues to plan and design efforts for prominent healthcare providers, including Mass General Brigham, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Trinity Health of New England. She also dedicates time engaging in healthcare policy discussions as well as researching and exploring emerging technology in healthcare and the effects they have on healthcare planning.
