Architecture Cruise Season Opens

Architecture Cruise

Boston – Co-sponsored by the BSA Foundation and Boston By Foot, and hosted by the Charles Riverboat Company, the 2017 season of Architecture Cruises opened on Saturday, May 27. Showcasing spectacular views of historic and contemporary architecture along Boston Harbor, the Charles River Locks, and the Charles River Basin, these 90-minute tours continue to be a unique way to explore Boston’s storied architecture heritage and evolving skyline.

These are some of the fun and little-known facts shared on the cruises:

“Oliver Wendell Holmes called the State House the Hub of the Solar System, from which Boston got its nickname “The Hub (of the Universe).”

“In 1927 the Cambridge Bridge was renamed in honor of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who crossed it to court his wife Fanny, then living on Beacon Street.”

The boat has a cash bar where guests can purchase beer, wine, soda, and premium mixed drinks. Light snacks are also available.

Tours depart from the CambridgeSide Galleria (100 CambridgeSide Place, Cambridge) Season period: Saturday, May 27, through Sunday, October 15, 2017.
