Winchester, Ma – Wise Constructionhas transformed interior space previously used for surgical recovery into a new, state- of-the-art sleep laboratory at Memorial Hospital in North Conway. The new clinical
space is designed like a hotel suite so that natural sleep patterns can be monitored and observed by clinicians while patients sleep at the center. Construction on the new Sleep Center required noise mitigation and timely subcontractor coordination to ensure there was no disruption of patient care in the adjacent Respiratory Unit. SBA designed the new center.
Wise Construction also completed the Hamarah Laboratory at Schepen’s Eye Research Institute in Boston. The 2,000-sf project included renovation of wet and tissue culture laboratories and two black rooms for use with a multiphoton microscope laser. Schepen’s Eye Research Institute is one of the largest eye research institutes in the country and fights blindness by developing new technologies, therapies and knowledge to return and restore vision. The lab was designed by Hecht Associates.
Wise also converted office space at the Broad Institute in Cambridge into a micro fabrication laboratory. Work involved installation of fume hoods and mechanical upgrades. The Broad Institute specializes in genomic medicine research. The architect for the project was Elkus Manfredi.
