Sharon, MA – Beacon Communities and Frontier Enterprises gathered with dignitaries recently to showcase the revitalization of the historic Charles R. Wilber school in Sharon.
Beacon Communities LLC, Frontier Enterprises, Inc., Massachusetts Housing Partnership, MassDevelopment, Bank of America, AEGON USA Realty Advisors, Prellwitz Chilinski Associates, Inc. all participated toward the completion of 75 housing units at Sharon’s historic school.
In 1922, the Town of Sharon built the Wilber School as its primary elementary education facility. The building expanded and became a high school in 1929, then continued to serve as a school and as a meeting place for town functions until its closure in 1981. The building remained vacant for nearly three decades.
The renovation of the School and construction of the apartments will once again integrate the facility into the community.
