Boston – Wentworth Institute of Technology has elected Lawrence LaFreniere, President and CEO of Electric Supply Center (ESC), to the Corporation of the Institute. As a corporator, LaFreniere will serve as part of a key advisory board for guiding, advising, and advancing the Institute.
LaFreniere purchased ESC in 1997 and grew the company through his expertise in distribution projects, operational excellence, translating conceptual models into specific growth strategies, improving market share and ultimately growing revenue.
LaFreniere has over twenty years of experience in the electrical distribution and engineering industry. LaFreniere commenced his career in 1988 with Westinghouse Electric as a Sales Engineer responsible for developing and supporting research for products. He moved on to a Sales Manager position with All Phase Electric Supply in 1992 where he was responsible for planning, organizing and managing a Boston-based construction branch. Since purchasing ESC, notable projects include being awarded the Central Artery Third Harbor Tunnel, Boston Engine Terminal, Fan Pier Count House and the Braintree Light Co-Gen Plant, where ESC managed very large-scale projects from start to successful finish.

LaFreniere, a resident of Boxford, MA, received his Bachelor of Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Mechanical Engineering, and has been a member of Affiliated Distributors and the Association of Facilities Engineering (AFE) Chapter 33. LaFreniere is actively involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and is a partner of the Golf Club at Turner Hill.
