Boston – BOND has been hired to provide construction management services for Wentworth Institute of Technology’s new residence hall, the Apartments @ 525 Huntington Avenue. The 305-bed residence hall will provide much-needed living space for junior and senior students, offering apartment-style living with mostly single bedrooms as part of a suite. It will create more appealing housing alternatives for students wishing to live on campus rather than in Boston’s surrounding neighborhoods and these units will provide modern amenities to address the current and future needs of students.
The 110,870 SF building offers 72 units of living space combined with ground floor offices, common space, and bike storage areas. The project site will dedicate 2,350 square feet to a landscaped entry plaza, providing a green gathering space reminiscent of other plazas located along the busy Huntington Avenue thoroughfare.
BOND’s team is working closely with Wentworth and design firm Beacon Architectural Associates on the project. As construction manager, BOND will provide a link between the on-site construction team and the surrounding neighborhood, keeping residents updated on planned construction activities.
“BOND is thrilled to continue our relationship with Wentworth,” said David Shrestinian, BOND Vice President. “Many members of our valued staff are Wentworth alumni, making this an exciting opportunity both professionally and personally.”
The construction of Wentworth’s newest residence hall is the latest project in a series of collaborations between BOND and Wentworth. BOND recently completed the renovation and expansion of the Institute’s Center for Sciences and Biomedical Engineering, and served as construction manager for residence halls at 555 and 610 Huntington Avenue.
