Vision 3 Architects Celebrates JWU Ground Breaking on their New Parking Structure

Providence, RI – Johnson & Wales University recently broke ground on their new parking structure in Providence, RI. The six-story, 750-car, open parking structure will be located at the intersection of Richmond and Pine Streets in the DownCity Historic District.

Providence, RI – Johnson & Wales University recently broke ground on their new parking structure in Providence, RI. The six-story, 750-car, open parking structure will be located at the intersection of Richmond and Pine Streets in the DownCity Historic District.

On Monday afternoon, several involved parties attended the ground breaking and ceremonial shovels were used by Joseph Caldeira, Senior Associate, Vision 3 Architects; Merlin DeConti Jr., Senior Vice President of Facilities Management, Johnson & Wales University; Bradford Dimeo, President, Dimeo Construction Co.; Governor Lincoln D. Chafee; Mim Runey, Johnson & Wales University Providence Campus President; John Bowen, Johnson & Wales University Chancellor; Mayor Angel Tavares; and Arthur Stadig, Vice President and Managing Principal, Walker Parking Consultants to commemorate the occasion.

In association with Walker Parking Consultants, Vision 3 Architects’ role as Image Architect includes
exterior façade design, coordination of all permitting activities including the Providence DownCity District Review Commission approvals, coordination of sitework and landscape architecture, as well as design of the first-floor commercial space on Richmond Street.

Johnson & Wales University was founded in 1914. The University continues to expand and enrich the
community. Vision 3 Architects is proud to be a part of this project for Johnson & Wales University and the City of Providence.
