North Kingstown, RI – Pro Con Inc announced that The TownePlace Suites Hotel, located in the Quonset Business Park in North Kingstown has been awarded LEED Silver Certification by the US Green Building Council.
Pro Con Inc, of Manchester, N.H., was the architect and construction manager for the 104-key extended stay hotel, which was developed as part of the Gateway Parcel Master Development by New Boston Fund Inc. of Boston and Waterford Development of Needham, Mass.
The four-story, 55,453sf hotel is the first TownePlace Suites to become LEED certified in the country.
Sustainable design practices were incorporated into each phase of construction and operation of the building, which resulted in the Towne Place Suites attaining a 26% improvement in energy performance when compared to a similar building.
