Boston, MA-The Arioch Center @ Wentworth has partnered with the Boston Chapter of National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) to offer Advanced Training for Construction Management, a continuing education program for NECA members.

The professional certificate program will educate current and potential foremen, general foremen, project managers, and NECA contractors’ management personnel with practical knowledge for effectively managing projects in the field. The learning objective of the course will be to address industry needs and provide construction management professionals with proven field-tailored solutions to common daily site management challenges.

“In today’s market, many smaller shops are bidding work with tighter margins, and as a result have eliminated the traditional project manager role,” said Liem Tran, director of educational outreach, The Arioch Center @ Wentworth. “This advanced program provides valuable field management training to a broader range of professionals who will now play an expanded role on projects.”

The course will cover contract documents, expectations and performance requirements, managing construction contracts, and managing project schedules. The first three-night session will be held beginning in May at the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) of Greater Boston’s Electrical Industry Training Center in Dorchester. Two additional sessions will be offered in July and October. For more information, contact the Boston Chapter of NECA at 617-969-2521 or info@bostonneca.org.

“The importance of education is paramount in the NECA contractors’ mission to deliver the finest workmanship and greatest value to each project,” said Glenn Kingsbury, NECA Boston Chapter Executive Manager. The Advanced Training for Construction Management program exemplifies NECA’s commitment to provide pertinent continuing education for NECA’s management personnel and skilled union labor force. And by doing so, provide unparalleled quality and efficiency on each project.”
