The 25th Annual Paul E. Tsongas Awards

Boston – On May 2nd, 30 projects were presented with an award that 25 years earlier its namesake, Senator Paul E. Tsgonas, received in honor of his dedicated efforts to preservation in the Commonwealth. 400 attendees filled the Grand Ballroom of the historic Fairmont Copley Hotel (also celebrating its centennial this year) to honor the projects, their development teams and their utilization of the Massachusetts Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit program.

Tsgonas, received in honor of his dedicated efforts to preservation in the Commonwealth. 400 attendees filled the Grand Ballroom of the historic Fairmont Copley Hotel (also celebrating its centennial this year) to honor the projects, their development teams and their utilization of the Massachusetts Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit program. These project not only preserved some remarkable historic buildings, they created jobs, generated revenues for our communities, sparked further investment in critical neighborhoods and enhanced a collective quality of life.
Senator Benjamin Downing was Keynote Speaker, remarking about the dramatic change that preservation has made in downtown Pittsfield, much as a result of the historic tax credit program, and Congresswoman Niki Tsongas said a few words about what preservation has meant to her and the amazing effect it has had in Lowell and other parts of her district.
