Boston – EYP Architecture & Engineering Project Executive, Heather Taylor, AIA, LEED AP, was recently elected to the Boston Society of Architects (BSA)’ Board of Directors as the Commissioner of Communications and PR.

“It is a great honor to be elected by one’s professional peers. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this wonderfully collegial community of design professionals. The new BSA space offers amazing new opportunities for engagement and outreach. I am thrilled to be a part of the Board.” Taylor stated.

An active member of the BSA since 1994, Taylor has shared her expertise at numerous BSA activities over the years, including serving as a speaker at BSA Career Days, acting as a BSA mentor, presenting at Build Boston on several occasions, and most recently, working with the BSA Women’s Principal Group, which ultimately resulted in her playing a key role as a steering committee member for the very successful National AIA Women’s Leadership Summits in 2011 and 2009.

With 20 years of experience as an architect, project executive, and project director, Taylor has deep familiarity with all project phases from programming to construction administration. She has particular expertise in the planning and programming of academic teaching facilities. She has also worked extensively in campus master planning.

The Boston Society of Architects, which now boasts 3,500 members, was originally established in 1867 and is dedicated to providing professional development for their members, spreading appreciation for the built environment, and advocating for great design. A nonprofit, professional service organization, the BSA is a chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
