B0ston, MA – Suffolk Construction’s Berry Division announced it has hired Charles Pappalardo as its new Vice President of Business Development for the high-growth Science and Technology sector. An accomplished senior-level executive with extensive experience in financial, operational, and business strategic planning, Mr. Pappalardo will be responsible for leveraging his real estate and construction knowledge and strong relationships in the Science and Technology sector to identify new construction and renovation project opportunities for Suffolk’s Northeast region.

Prior to joining Suffolk, Mr. Pappalardo served as Corporate Vice President and Officer of Global Facilities Management Services at Charles River Laboratories. At Charles River Labs, he was responsible for a real estate portfolio of over 70 facilities worldwide consisting of over 4.5 million square feet, and he managed multiple capital projects in excess of $500 million, including BSL2-3, vivarium, data centers, archives, laboratories, clean rooms, and related critical environments. As part of this portfolio, he led the effort that planned, designed, constructed, and delivered the first U.S. FDA GLP-compliant Pre-Clinical Toxicology facility in China.

Mr. Pappalardo also served as Corporate Vice President of Global Facilities Management at Boston Scientific Corporation where he developed and managed teams of project managers, real estate professionals, engineers, and facility planners and managers as part of the company’s facilities and capital projects initiatives. He also co-led the Operations Integration Team of the industry’s largest acquisition between Boston Scientific and Guidant Corporation.

Mr. Pappalardo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, and a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, Massachusetts.
