West Harford, CT – Simon Konover Development Corporation (SKDC), along with its partner, Outlook Development Group (Outlook) of Franklin, Wisconsin, recently acquired a medical office building located at 601 Handeyside Lane in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
“This acquisition is a strategic continuation of the joint venture’s goal to acquire medical office facilities and other commercial properties in the greater Milwaukee and Chicago markets,” according to James Wakim, President of The Simon Konover Company. “This acquisition adds to the holdings of the joint venture as we expand our investment and commitment to the Midwest.”
The Fort Atkinson Health Clinic was acquired from Meriter Health based in Madison, Wisconsin in the fourth quarter of 2011. The facility is occupied by a physician group employed by the UW Health system which provides family medical and laboratory services to the community of Fort Atkinson. The health clinic is located in a cluster of other healthcare facilities on the campus of the Ft. Atkinson Hospital, which is independently owned and operated.
“We are very pleased with this acquisition given the quality of the building, the financial strength of the tenant, the services they provide, the on campus cluster of medical uses, and the growing need for healthcare in the United States,” said Mr. Wakim.
The joint venture of SKDC and Outlook has previously acquired another medical facility in Brookfield, Wisconsin as well as a grocery-anchored retail center in Hartford, Wisconsin. Additional properties are under contract in Wisconsin and Illinois with several anticipated closings in 2012.
Headquartered in West Hartford, Connecticut, SKDC is a division of The Simon Konover Company. Started over 50 years ago, The Simon Konover Company is a fully integrated real estate organization nationally-recognized as one of the premier real estate entities operating throughout the Midwest and Eastern United States.
