Boston – Shawmut Design and Construction announced two new hires at the West Springfield office. Steven Salamon has been appointed project manager and Thomas Munson assistant project manager, bolstering its West Springfield office.
As project manager, Salamon will be responsible for the daily operations of Shawmut’s field and office teams as well as managing the pre-construction and construction phases on academic and institutional projects. A former lead estimator and project manager at Marois Construction, he brings over 17 years of industry experience to Shawmut. He has extensive experience in all facets of construction, overseeing projects at UMass Amherst, Smith College and Holyoke Community College.
Recently appointed assistant project manager Thomas Munson was previously employed at Whiting Turner Contracting Company as project engineer, where he worked with clients including United Illuminating Company and King Low Heywood Thomas School.
