Boston, Mass – Roundhill Construction, a Boston-based general contracting firm specializing in interior build-outs for commercial space-users, recently announced that the company has been selected by The Beal Cos. to conduct two separate office and lab space build-outs at One Kendall Square in Cambridge, Mass.
Roundhill Construction will create 10,000 square feet of laboratory and office space at One Kendall Square for GnuBIO, a privately held company that develops next-generation gene sequencing technology for clinical and research applications. GnuBIO is relocating to One Kendall Square from 64 Sidney St. in Cambridge. GnuBIO will be headquartered at One Kendall Square.
Roundhill Construction also will fit out 4,500 square feet of office space on a fast-track schedule for Crashlytics, a start-up company that creates debugging and crash reporting and analysis software for mobile computer device applications. Crashlytics will be based at Building 300 within One Kendall Square.
Owned by The Beal Cos., One Kendall Square is a 770,000-square-foot mixed use complex located in the heart of Cambridge’s Kendall Square district, in close proximity to Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The two new assignments come hard on the heels of the completion of another collaborative project involving Roundhill Construction and The Beal Cos. Roundhill recently completed the fit-up of 4,400 square feet of new office space for OneView Commerce, a provider of software solutions for retailers, at 70 Fargo St. in Boston on behalf of The Beal Cos. and its joint-venture partner, Rockpoint Group. Also known as Seaport Center, 70 Fargo St. is a 465,000-square-foot, Class A office building located in the South Boston Seaport District.
“With one build-out project completed and two new assignments on under way, the working relationship between Roundhill Construction and Beal continues to grow and strengthen,” said Ted Fish, president of Roundhill Construction. “We are very pleased to again be working with one of the region’s premier, full-service real estate firms and anticipate forming a long-term relationship with The Beal Cos.”
Based in Boston, The Beal Cos. is a closely held firm that actively pursues investment opportunities in all segments of the real estate industry. Since 1888, the Beal family has built a full-service real estate firm whose projects and advisory services have spanned the nation.
Beal Companies Senior Vice President Stephen Faber remarked: “We were very pleased with the excellent results delivered by Round Hill at Seaport Center. Ted Fish and the Round Hill team demonstrated a very thorough knowledge and understanding of what it takes to deliver a successful fit out project. Teds’ hands on management approach and streamlined reporting, critical to fast track projects, was instrumental in Beal’s selection of Round Hill for two additional projects at One Kendall Square; Gnu Bio- a 10K lab project and Crashlytics – a 4500 SF fast track office buildout.”
