Chelsea, MA – A ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the hotel’s official opening was recently held for a new 128-room Residence Inn by Marriott at 200 Maple Street in Chelsea. Pro Con Inc of Manchester, N.H. was the architect and construction manager for the $13.5 million design-build hotel, which has been developed by XSS, LLC.
The five-story hotel has 111 urban studios and 17 one-bedroom suites, with a large hearth room, bar and lounge area, breakfast room, indoor pool & fitness room, 1300sf of flexible space meeting rooms, business center and guest laundry area. The building’s first floor houses the hotel’s reception and common areas and offers street level, covered parking for 26 vehicles just outside the entrance.
The exterior façade features precast concrete, brick veneer, insulated metal paneling and cornice molding. The main entrance features a curved canopy with metal panels and double sliding glass doors.
The hotel has been designed and built to achieve LEED certification.
