Renewable Sales Chosen to Deliver PV to Mass. Facilities

Holliston, MA – Renewable Sales, LLC of Holliston, has been chosen to supply photovoltaic (PV) systems to 15 Massachusetts facilities, for what is currently the state’s largest solar power project.

Holliston, MA – Renewable Sales, LLC of Holliston, has been chosen to supply photovoltaic (PV) systems to 15 Massachusetts facilities, for what is currently the state’s largest solar power project.

The company will deliver over 2 megawatts (MW) of power, putting about 11,000 solar panels into use. The state’s Division of Capital Asset Management tapped Ostrow Electric of Worcester to install the equipment. Marlboro’s Evergreen Solar will manufacture the panels and Solectria Renewables of Lawrence will produce the electrical inverters.

Eleven state colleges and universities are slated to receive the energy upgrades, including Fitchburg, Framingham, Westfield and Salem state universities; UMass Boston, Dartmouth and Lowell; and Berkshire, Greenfield, Massasoit and North Shore community colleges. Other facilities include and education center at Chickatawbut Hill in Milton and a recycling center in Springfield.

An open house was held recently as part of the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour.. Area lawmakers and members of the public toured the facility, while a class was conducted on the installation of PV systems.
