Three weeks remain to submit projects to SBIC’s 2010 Beyond Green™ High-Performance Building Awards. Entries must be received by Friday, November 19th at 5:00 pm.

The Beyond Green™ program is an excellent opportunity to gain recognition for your high performance building projects and initiatives.

As demonstrated this week in the press, award winners can gain considerable visibility for outstanding submissions. Emerson Electric’s Data center, which was recognized last year as an Innovative Solution for a Niche Market Application, continues to receive attention. To read the story, visit here.

Recognized winners will be invited to Washington, DC to present their projects at two educational briefings – one on Capitol Hill and one hosted by the Catholic University of America’s School of Architecture and Planning. Winning entries will also be posted on the Whole Building Design Guide (www.wbdg.org) and on SBIC’s web site.

The Beyond Green™ High-Performance Building Awards program is open to all and offers two entry categories: High-Performance Buildings and High-Performance Initiatives. Both categories will be evaluated on the successful application of the whole building approach and on energy and environmental considerations.

Serving as the jury for the competition are: Stephen T. Ayers, AIA, LEED AP , Nancy Clanton, PE, IALD, FIES, LC LEED AP, Deane M. Evans, FAIA, and Earle Kennett, COO with NIBS . This year’s jury will be chaired by Gregg Ander, FAIA.
