Andover, MA – RDK Engineers (RDK) will provide Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing services for what is expected to be the first state-owned Zero Net Energy Building (ZNEB) in Massachusetts. RDK will work with DiMella Shaffer Architects on a new Health and Students Services Building at North Shore Community College (NSCC) in Danvers, MA. The new building is currently under construction and will allow NCSS to consolidate its Health Profession programs, Enrollment Service Center, and Student Support Services Center under one roof.
A building is classified as a ZNEB if the amount of energy produced onsite is equal to or greater than the
amount of energy consumed on a yearly basis. The three-story, 60,000 SF Health and Student Services
Building will include the following energy-efficient features:

Chilled beams and energy recovery ventilation
Roof-mounted photovoltaic systems
High-performing HVAC systems
Natural day lighting and controls that adjust lights based on daylight
Expected LEED Gold Certification
