Brighton, MA – Peabody Properties recently announced the pre-leasing phase of The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg House, located at 132 Chestnut Hill Avenue on the Brighton campus of 2Life Communities. The brand-new community offers new affordable rental housing for seniors 62+. The first residents are expected to be welcomed in February 2019.
The residents of The Weinberg House will benefit from existing 2Life resources. The new building is connected by an enclosed pedestrian bridge to the existing 700-apartment Brighton campus, with amenities that include a fitness and wellness program, a multi-lingual library, a state-of-the-art auditorium, an art studio, meeting rooms, lounge areas, intergenerational activities, and lifelong learning opportunities, as well as 24/7/365 maintenance and emergency response.
The community includes 56 one-bedroom and five studio homes, and is located in a neighborhood that features shopping, fine restaurants, and entertainment and is close to all major highway routes, bus and rail transportation.
2Life Communities (formerly Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly) is a non-profit organization founded in 1965, and provides high-quality homes that are also affordable at a variety of income levels.
The organization operates on the belief that all seniors should have the opportunity to live a full life of connection and purpose in a dynamic, supportive environment – a model called aging in community, which directly combats the growing public health crisis of social isolation and loneliness amongst older adults. It serves a diverse population of more than 1,500 people.
