Peter Delano Recognized

Nobis Engineering, a multi-disciplinary consulting firm providing diversified environmental, geotechnical and civil engineering services announced today that Principal Peter Delano, P.E. has been recognized by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Boston Post as the recipient of the prestigious S. Peter Volpe Award. This annual achievement award honors an SAME member whose support and loyalty to the Boston Post and SAME has been without fail. It signifies all that the Boston Post, and the award’s namesake are about: service to the Nation, leadership in the community, and support of the profession.

Since joining Nobis in 1995, Peter Delano, P.E. has managed numerous engineering, remediation, construction, and facility contracts for the firm’s federal agency clients. As senior vice president, Mr. Delano is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of Nobis’ growing federal practice. Mr.Delano graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1985 where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and graduated from the US Army Engineer School in 1986. Mr. Delano served in the U.S. Army and New Jersey Army National Guard from 1985-1992 and retired as a Captain. He serves as a board member with several professional and civic organizations. Mr. Delano has served SAME as a past President of the SAME Piscataqua Post and Board of Directors as well as SAME Boston Post Small Business Committee Chair and Board of Directors.

The SAME Boston Post is dedicated to supporting our nation and the advancement of the science of military engineering. The Boston Post helps the engineering and environmental professions, the construction industry, and the many federal and state agencies achieve their respective goals. The Boston Post accomplishes this help by promoting the natural linkage between the civilian and military engineering, environmental, and construction industries for their mutual benefit. The Boston Post additionally accomplishes this aim through supporting education in engineering and the environmental sciences through its scholarship program, its tutoring and mentoring programs, and by continuing education of its professional membership.
