Bedford, NH – Eckman Construction recently announced that the New Hampshire Job Corps Center in Manchester, N.H. has received substantial completion. Construction of the seven-building campus on Dunbarton Road was completed on time. The new facility was built for the U.S. Department of Labor, and the announcement of the new facility operator is expected soon. Some construction activity will continue at the campus during the spring months as Eckman crews complete additional work requested by the Department of Labor.
“We started work here at the N.H. Job Corps Center in May 2013, and we want to thank all the subcontractors, vendors, and other workers that had a hand in helping us get to this point,” said John Deloia, vice president, Eckman Construction and project executive on the project. “We hope that the new campus will serve as a statewide resource to help students carve out meaningful careers for years to come.”
Job Corps centers across the country currently train more than 60,000 students at 125 centers nationwide. The N.H. Job Corps Center, the first of its kind in the Granite State, features dormitories with 360 beds for on-campus living, an education building with classrooms, a recreation facility, dining commons, a wellness/administration building, and a gatehouse.
