While large-scale construction projects have slowed down, hospitals continue to improve their facilities in many ways. The “green” movement is impacting LEED building projects and sustainability efforts in hospitals. Aside from simply needing to comply with new legal and regulatory requirements, hospitals are taking the lead in innovation in areas such as energy, waste reduction, materials, and food. They are creating state of the art LEED certified buildings that are setting the pace for sustainability improvements. This year we’ll take a look at some of these innovations featuring case studies and presentations. This year’s annual conference will look at how these initiatives are good for both patients and the bottom line, and will also highlight some exciting new possibilities for the near future. Join your colleagues from across the state at this exciting annual event!

Full agenda will be announced soon but presentations will include:

-Invited keynote speaker from the US Green Building Council on Trends in Healthcare (LEED certification organization)

-Win Win Strategies for Cost Savings/Benefits Around Sustainability Projects in hospitals

-Case Study of new Spaulding Rehabilitation Center: designed as “regenerative” architecture incorporating LEED criteria for sustainability and also design parameters that promote healing
