Boston, MA – Environments at Work announced today that Maine Territory Manager Amy Lalezari was named President of the Maine Interior Design Association (MIDA). MIDA was created to act legislatively as a single voice of Maine Interior Design professionals. The non-profit organization is dedicated to advocating issues related the interior design profession in Maine, and promoting the health, safety and welfare of the public.
Lalezari is serving for the 2009/2010 session. Together with the board of directors, Lalezari is focused on supporting MIDA’s community outreach and educational programs to its membership and colleagues, while continuing to promote environmentally-friendly processes to the organization including electronic invitations, membership forms, newsletters, and a newly-enhanced interactive website (www.mida-maine.org).
This year, MIDA will host annual events such as: the Members’ Annual Fall Dinner, Habitat for Humanity Work Day, Spring Educational Event, Holiday Gala and the Spring “Taste of Tuscany” wine tasting fund raiser.
“Amy’s role within the design community in Maine is representative of her focused commitment to her work and serving the interests of her colleagues and clients,” said Ken Patrick, president of Environments at Work. “We are very proud of Amy’s contributions to the industry, and look forward to seeing how her work continues to advance MIDA’s goals and interests.”
On the MIDA board of directors, Lalezari is joined by officers Howard Castonguay (Treasurer) and Jeana Richard (Secretary); and directors Dave Dembowitz (Membership), Theresa Brackett, Julie Tupper, Roxanne Simpson, Jessica King, Shannon Metcalf, Lynn Pepin, Liz Salamone, Stephanie Wihbey, Jessie Jayne-Bruni, Rebecca Waxman-Sneed, Russell Lunt, Rob Roy, and Christine Kiley.
