Farmington, CT, and Columbia, MD – – KBE Building Corporation (KBE) has won the Marketing Communications Award (MCA) for Best Website from the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Connecticut Chapter.
The website was launched in October, 2012 and features many dynamic elements, including an extensive project gallery, videos, blog posts, and a spotlight on KBE’s annual community outreach initiative, 50 Ways to Make a Difference. KBE values the website as its primary, foundational tool to communicate 1) the company’s breadth and depth of work over more than five decades, 2) the ingenuity and tenacity of its team, which includes not only KBE employees, but also clients/owners, design partners, and subcontractors, and 3) clarity regarding the firm’s ownership (Mike Kolakowski, Eric Brown, and Simon Etzel) and their hands-on involvement in projects.
“We are thrilled to have won this award,” said Mike Kolakowski, KBE President and CEO. “I’ve been surprised, frankly, to hear ‘I didn’t know you did…’ from so many people. Some didn’t know we have such a large portfolio of education work, while others didn’t even know who owned the company! So it’s clear that the site is working as designed.”
The company updates the site regularly and plans significant upgrades on a regular basis.
SMPS was created in 1973 to provide resources and opportunities for professionals in the marketing industry. Currently, SMPS represents over 7,000 marketing and business development professionals for many different fields, including construction, architectural, interior design, engineering, planning, and specialty consulting. The Connecticut Chapter of the SMPS was founded in 1983 and is home to nearly 100 professional marketers.
The bi-annual Marketing Communications Awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in West Hartford, CT.
