Bow, NH – Jewett Automotive Design & Construction recently began renovations at the Grappone Automotive Group’s 77,000sf Toyota dealership and service facility at 514 State Route 3A in Bow.
Once completed, the new building, designed by Jeff Margaretten of Margaretten Architectural, is expected to receive LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council – becoming the first LEED dealership in New England.
The project, slated for completion by December, 2011, includes demolition of the existing facility and construction of a new increased-capacity service department, charging stations for electric vehicles, expanded customer lounge with Wi-Fi and improved customer parking.
The facility will also have a new drive-through service check in, grand showroom, new corporate offices and a state of the art training facility.
The project will be done in phases and the dealership will remain open throughout construction
One of the major benefits of the project is that it will reduce water usage by 20 percent, and increase energy efficiency by 20 percent.
The Jewett-Grappone team plans to incorporate such “green” energy saving technologies as a state-of-the-art geothermal heating system, larger windows to take advantage of natural light, increased insulation, energy saving lighting and plumbing fixtures, and the use of components made of recycled materials. Upwards of 90 percent of construction debris will be recycled or reused in the new facility.
