Boston – Peter Steffian, FAIA passed away on Monday, May 27th at the age of 76.
Mr. Steffian was a prominent Boston architect who became principal and ultimately chairman of Steffian Bradley Architects (SBA), the firm founded in 1932 by his father, Edwin T. Steffian. During his 50 years in practice, Peter designed, planned, and managed many noteworthy building projects. He established an important portfolio that includes area landmarks such as 808 Memorial Drive in Cambridge and the Devonshire, a forty-two story building that graces the Boston skyline.
Peter held many significant leadership positions within the architectural community, including service for a decade on the Board of Overseers at the Boston Architectural College. Peter was also a board member and then president of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Architects for seventeen years through which he became a director, officer, and president of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
