IES Launches Series of Free Architectural Sustainable Analysis Seminars

Boston – Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), announced the launch of its free architecture educational seminar series

Boston – Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), announced the launch of its free architecture educational seminar series – IES Faculty – throughout the U.S. and Canada. The program was established to examine the principles of sustainable design as well as the application of IES’ award-winning software.

Attendees do not need prior experience in the IES Virtual Environment (VE) software to attend. The sessions will cover the zero-carbon issues being faced by today’s architects and will offer guidance on how to enhance architectural designs and productivity to quickly plan buildings that consume significantly less energy and incorporate low-carbon and renewable technologies.

In just a few hours, the seminar will show how IES’ architectural analysis tool VE-Gaia, and its integration with Google SketchUp and Autodesk Revit delivers quick feedback at the earliest stages of design. Plus, it will look at how to leverage our LEED tools for assessing performance credit levels quickly and easily throughout the design process. Where possible, at each session, IES customers will present and share their experiences and best practices.

“Ambient Energy, one of our customers, joined us in Denver at our pilot seminar to discuss what architects should address at the earliest stages of design, including local climate, building form, orientation, daylight analysis and more, providing a first-person narrative to our story,” said Dr. Don McLean, founder and CEO of IES. “As we head to additional cities throughout North America, we look forward to sharing our expertise and experience with all practitioners interested in true energy-efficient sustainable design.”

Planned cities for the series are Atlanta, Calgary, Chicago, Edmonton, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco and Vancouver. Refreshments will be provided.
