Augusta and Portland, ME and Norwood, MA – oGZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. recently announced that the staff of former Hillier & Associates in Augusta ME has joined the company.
James E. Hillier, Bradley W. Tirone and Amy D.Fitzherbert, all three formerly with Hillier & Associates bring extensive experience in management and protection of water quality, source-water exploration and development, environmental assessments and remediation. They will work from the Augusta office and from GZA’s existing office in Portland.
Hillier, C.G. is a geologist certified in Maine, Alaska, and nationally by the American Institute of Professional Geologists. Before joining GZA he was the owner and CEO of Hiller & Associates, Inc, a firm that he founded in 1995 to provide consulting services in geological sciences and environmental engineering. Between 1995 and 2011 the Hillier & Associates team completed more than 550 projects in Maine, the eastern US, Canada and Central America. Prior to starting Hiller & Associates, he worked for 10 years with R.G. Gerber, Inc. of Freeport, ME where he was a senior hydrologist and a member of the Board of Directors. He earned his B.A. in 1978 in Geological Science at the University of Maine.
Tirone is a hydrologist with extensive experience in the monitoring of groundwater, drinking water, wastewater and surface water as well as hydrogeological investigations, characterizations and remediation, monitoring well assessment and function, road corridor environmental studies and lake bathymetry. He received his B.S. in Resource Management, forestry and his M.S. in Forest Hydrology, Water Resource Management at SUNY College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry. He is a Certified U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineator and a Class II Water Supply Systems Operator.
Fitzherbert is an environmental scientist with extensive experience in environmental management projects, including permitting, water sampling, environmental site assessments, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, environmental laboratory analysis, and QA/QC Manuals. She received her B.S. in 2005 in Fisheries and Environmental Analysis at Unity College.
