SUMMARY:BE+: Introduction to the Passive House Standard
DESCRIPTION:About the Class \nPassive House goals and methodology change the way architects and builders think and work\, making the architectural design itself a driver of climate\, health\, and social solutions. This is a 4-hour course that dives into the basic principles\, history\, certification\, and the new frontiers of Passive House design as it continues to challenge and change industry expectations. All theory is then illustrated through several case studies outlining specific Passive House principles. This course is provided by The Passive House Network. \nParticipants will need to provide their own laptop with internet capabilities. \n4 AIA/HSW Continuing Education Units are available for this training.

A discussion on what the role of architects is in the design of projects and how they can educate clients.  Attendees will come away with a better understanding of current electrification standard and will be able to have the discussions needed to promote change and to set examples for their projects and clients.
