SUMMARY:AGC MA: BWiC Panel Reunion
DESCRIPTION:How often is there only one man in a project meeting or on a job site?  For the other 50% of the population\, we frequently find ourselves as the only woman in these scenarios.  While the AEC industry continues to evolve and grow toward a more equitable division in the board room and in the trailer\, it has become a critical best practice to promote diversity.  The BWiC (Building Women in Construction) committee was established 7 years ago by AGC MA to help eliminate barriers—some of which were historically put up by women themselves. \nJoin us as we welcome back the original panelists that helped break the glass ceiling and launched the BWiC Advisory Committee. The conversation will focus on how the industry has advanced since 2016 and discuss some of the challenges women still face–particularly at each juncture of their careers. \nIt was important in 2016 to not just gather women to complain about the inequities\, but to start to shift those inequities\, provide a support network\, and truly boost women to feel empowered. That mission still holds true today! \nBWiC aims to connect\, empower\, recognize and support women within the AGC community and beyond. \nModerated by: \nChristy Murphy\, Project Executive\, Project Advisory\, The Vertex Comonaiies\, LLC \nPanelists: \nRose Conti\, Vice President Interiors and Special Projects / Life Science at Lee Kennedy Company \nCarli Cabana\, Senior Project Manager at VVA Project & Cost Managers \nJacqueline Falla\, Director of Client Services – Elaine Construction \nKelly Scholler\, Senior Project Manager at Elaine Construction \nSiggy Pfendler\, Vice President | Improvement & Innovation \nStacy Roman\, enior Project Manager at Chapman Construction/Design \nKatrina Walther\, Suffolk Construction Superintendent | OSHA\, LEED\, Construction Management Leader
