Burlington, Massachusetts – 2012 has been a big year for Erland Construction thus far, as we celebrated three major accomplishments – our 35th anniversary; a new office; and the creation and execution of a new corporate brand.
In the fall of 2011, we saw a great opportunity to reinvigorate our brand. Our company was moving to a new office in the first quarter of 2012, so all collateral material would have to be reprinted to reflect the change in address. Our anniversary celebrations would serve as vehicles to host a series of events to launch a new brand identity.
Erland chose 71 Third Avenue in Burlington as our new home. We knew this building well – having built it out of the ground in 2001 and renovated it in 2004. Maugel Architects, the architect for this building’s previous projects, was brought in as the designer for our new build-out project.
With plans for the new office underway, Erland hired Boston-based kor Group, a brand strategy, design and new media firm, to guide us through a rebranding exercise. kor Group reviewed Maugel’s office design to determine ways the new corporate identity could be reflected in Erland’s physical space. Both design efforts – architectural and brand – strove for a contemporary look and feel that was distinctive and energetic.
Erland’s Vice President of Project Development, Scott Bates said, “We wanted to be more relevant to a younger client base and at the same time confirm to current clients that we can still be relied upon to provide the level of service they have come to expect from Erland.”
