Mansfield, CT – Erland Construction, Inc. of East Windsor, recently completed Phase
1A of the Storrs Center project – a new residential/retail mixed-use development
in Mansfield– for the joint partnership of LeylandAlliance LLC of Tuxedo, New York and EdR of Memphis, Tenn.
Teaming with architecture firm BL Companies of Meriden, Erland has now begun
Phase 1B, which will be complete in the fall of 2013.
Phase 1A encompassed two, five-story buildings and Phase 1B will add one
more five-story structure. All three, totaling 362,000sf, have a mix of restaurants, retail, and commercial space on the first floor and residential units on floors two through five.
The 322 apartments feature a combination of studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.
This public/private partnership – in collaboration with the Mansfield Downtown
Partnership – has been designed to meet sustainability guidelines and many sustainable elements have been incorporated into the project including Energy Star
appliances, low VOC paints and adhesives, and energy efficient plumbing fixtures.
When completed, Storrs Center will be a mixed-use town center and main street
corridor at the crossroads of the Town of Mansfield, Connecticut and the University
of Connecticut.
Storrs Center will ultimately combine retail, restaurant, and office uses with a variety of residence types including rental apartments, town homes, and condominium apartments.
