Burlington, Ma – Erland Construction has been awarded preconstruction and construction services for the expansion and renovation of the dining facilities within the McCarthy Center at Framingham State University. Teaming with designer Symmes Maini & McKee Associates of Cambridge, the Massachusetts State College Building Authority, and Owner’s Representative Commercial Construction Consulting of Boston, Erland will perform this work over the summer of 2013.
The 5,500 square foot addition will significantly expand seating for Framingham State University’s existing dining facilities – adding approximately 200 new seats. When completed, the school plans to utilize this new space for functions and large gatherings, as well as for student dining. Erland will also be installing some new equipment within the existing kitchen and providing additional kitchen food preparation and storage areas.
”We’re excited to team with SMMA and the MSCBA to improve Framingham State University’s facilities and to develop a great working relationship with the school,” said Erland Vice President / Group Manager, Rick Jensen.
