Derry, NH – Construction of a new “Freshman Academy” Building at Pinkerton Academy in Derry is well underway. Eckman Construction is the Construction Manager for the 135,000 square-foot building, which marks Eckman’s fiftieth, or “golden” school construction project. Foundations are in place, and work is proceeding on schedule for a July, 2011 completion. The project site on Pinkerton’s busy campus is adjacent to the Vocational and Social Studies buildings.
The new building was designed by Marinace Architects of New Hampton, NH. The brick structure will have a soaring three-story lobby. It will contain 29 classrooms, science labs, computer labs, a lecture hall/ auditorium, as well as a cafeteria and kitchen. A dedicated building for freshmen will allow students to have most or all of their classes within one building for their first year.
