Bedford, NH – Four Eckman Construction staff members recently received their Healthcare Construction Certificate. The project managers and project superintendents attended a seminar presented by the American Society of Healthcare Engineers to complete the requirements for certification.

Brian Baroody, Jon Krygeris, Dan Bolduc, and Ron Olmsted improved their knowledge of Infection Control Risk Assessments and the details of an Infection Control Risk Management Recommendation. These are two of the documents used by medical facilities to comply with regulatory requirements before and during any construction project, and they address the methods to be used by the Construction Manager or General Contractor during a construction project.

“Eckman focuses on minimizing impacts to the occupants of any building where we are working,” said Project Manager Baroody. “We have experience with the construction of healthcare facilities, and this training lets us help hospitals to meet all of the requirements that they face.” The separation of construction from patient care areas, and the necessity of constant communication with project owners and their staff are practiced on all Eckman healthcare projects.

Attendees also received training on industry best practices when constructing facilities that incorporate the latest medical technology including advanced imaging and treatment equipment. Technical equipment such as MRI and CT machines, linear accelerators, and robotic surgical apparatus have unique installation and structural requirements. By maintaining up-to-date familiarity with these requirements, Eckman has positioned itself to best provide construction services at healthcare facilities.
