Westbrook, ME – E.S. Boulos Company, Inc. (ESB), Northern New England’s largest electrical construction company, announces that the company is now providing electrical construction services using a Building Information Modeling (BIM) platform on projects that specify its use. Through BIM software and technology consultant, Microdesk, ESB’s Commercial Group’s project management and engineering management teams have completed software training in AutoCad Revit MEP 2011 Suite and NavisWorks to support the company’s recently awarded Portland International Jetport Expansion project, as well as other major projects the company has recently bid.

Headed by ESB Senior Project Manager Joseph Bradley and Site Engineer Jesse Klimaytis, five project managers and engineers received BIM training at the company’s Westbrook, Maine headquarters. According to ESB Director Denis St. Pierre, “Building Information Modeling is a very important technology platform that we will use on the Portland International Jetport project with Construction Manager Turner Construction, and on many future projects. BIM enables us to serve our clients with the most efficient project estimating, planning and electrical construction services. The resulting benefits will be a streamlined construction process, and better engineered buildings with high performance systems that meet stringent LEED requirements. Recognizing the importance of the technology, we take pride in being among the first electrical contractors in Northern New England to have made an investment and commitment into BIM.”

ESB’s in-house BIM capabilities enables the company to seamlessly participate on projects that utilize Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methodology
