New Haven, CT – Diggs Construction of Hartford, Conn. was asked by Varick Church to survey their church and administration buildings to develop a scope of work and budget for the complete replacement of the roofs on both buildings, the restoration of the masonry on the church building, and the replacement of the exterior siding & trim on the administration building.
The project includes removal of the existing slate roof on the church building, repair and replacement of ornamental gutter/rain leader system and installation of new sheathing and Architectural shingles. The masonry restoration includes replacing cast stone coping at the Bell tower, re-flashing at the chimneys and parapets, replacing loose brick, built up roof systems, and repointing several hundred square feet. Lastly, the administration building will include a new built up roof system, as well as new window surrounds and siding at the second story of the building exterior. Diggs is proud to state that 58.8% of the contract work is being performed by MWBEs.
