CTA Begins work on new Tahanto Region Middle/High School

Boylston, MA – CTA Construction Co. Inc.has started work on the new Tahanto Regional Middle/High School. With a resume of more than 20 school building projects in Massachusetts, CTA has completed more than $300 million worth of public construction projects in the past decade.

The new 126,000-square-foot facility will feature an expanded auditorium and band and music area and will meet the standards of the Massachusetts – Collaborative for High Performance Schools, a certification process that addresses school design, construction and operation. MA-CHPS strives to make schools environmentally friendly and efficient energy, water and material efficient, well-lit, thermally comfortable, acoustically sound, safe, healthy and easy to operate.

The new Middle/High School, with a construction cost of $32.2 million, is scheduled to be completed by fall 2012 and occupied by January 2013.

Across Massachusetts, CTA has an extensive list of completed schools projects including a half dozen MA-CHPS projects. CTA-built schools include the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in New Bedford, the Memorial Elementary School in Burlington and the Willard Elementary School in Concord.

CTA has earned an average rating of 93 out of 100 by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management, a state agency overseeing public construction contractors.
