Milford, MA – Consigli continues it’s commitment to helping the people of Haiti in the aftermath of its devastating earthquake with the recent donation of a 14-foot box truck which will be used as a shipping container for supplies and afterwards a permanent addition to the relief efforts.
Mike Invernizzi, Equipment Manager at Consigli, prepared the truck for delivery to MissionE4, a local humanitarian group with established long-term ties to Haiti. The truck will be filled with humanitarian supplies, including donated lumber, building materials and tools, clothes and shoes.
“Sustained economic and community development are key in assisting the Haitian people recover. Not only will the truck serve as a means of transporting needed supplies into the country, but it will be a valuable tool in ME4’s ongoing community building efforts. We’re extremely grateful to Consigli; as the truck will provide benefits for years.” said Wayne Wiersma, representative of MissionE4.
Consigli also donated building tools, including a cement mixer and plate compactor, for another truck bound for Haiti in late November, sponsored by the BeLikeBrit organization. This nonprofit is building an orphanage to continue the legacy of Britney Gengel, a local college student who perished in the earthquake while on a humanitarian visit to a Haitian orphanage.
These donations continue the support and aid from Consigli that include the company’s sponsorship of six employee volunteers who traveled to Haiti this past March to frame a new orphanage and a roof on a damaged school. Consigli also matched an employee fundraiser for Haitian relief efforts.
“We are happy to be able to continue to help the people of Haiti through the efforts of our committed employee volunteers and Consigli Construction’s support,” said Brian Brogioli, Consigli Construction Co., Inc. Director of Human Resources.
