Boston – Cimetrics Inc. recently announced its participation and contribution of its Infometrics Building Efficiency Services and Energy Information System Dashboard technology to the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE) Building Technology Showcase. The Showcase is a first-of-its-kind research and demonstration building for sustainable technologies in the City of Boston’s Innovation District. Infometrics is the industry-leading analytical service for remote monitoring and ongoing commissioning of building HVAC systems. An Infometrics program provides powerful algorithm-based analysis of data that is continuously collected. Valuable periodic reports containing actionable recommendations enable building owners to improve energy efficiency and comfort, lower maintenance costs, and effectively manage outside contractors. Cimetrics is an experienced and key participant among the 35+ partners that are contributing a combined total of $2.7 million in advanced building energy technologies and services for the new “living laboratory.”

“We are thrilled that Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems Building Technology Showcase has chosen our market leading energy efficiency technology for deployment in this pioneer technology showcase. Installation of our Energy Analytics and Fault Detection and Diagnostic technology will support the market leading energy efficiency results we are known for worldwide, and it will also enable us to display the new energy information system products. We look forward to contributing to Fraunhofer CSE’s showcase with practical and substantial results.” said James M. Lee, Cimetrics Founder and CEO.

Fraunhofer CSE recently commenced a deep energy renovation and systems retrofit of the historic 100-year-old building at 5 Channel Center in Boston’s Fort Point Innovation District. The objective is to transform the property into a research and demonstration facility for advanced building energy technologies. CSE researchers will evaluate the reliability and effectiveness of the technologies incorporated into the building, helping technology developers prove out their products with building-integrated and other applied research, and showcasing these technologies in a state-of-the-art exhibition and educational space open to the public. The building will be Fraunhofer CSE’s new headquarters, housing its advanced research labs and staff.

“In addition to making the Building Technology Showcase the premier research and demonstration laboratory for clean energy technologies, we are committed to making the building a venue where everyone-from seasoned architects and construction executives to students still deciding their future career paths-can visualize the performance and potential of the technologies incorporated into the building,” said Nolan Browne, Managing Director of Fraunhofer CSE. “Our goal is to present the information in innovative ways that engage visitors and create demand for these energy-saving systems and sustainable products in the market.”
