Meriden, CT – CBC members and guests gathered in the Augusta Curtis Cultural Center in March to discuss transit-oriented development opportunities along the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield “Knowledge Corridor. ” The location of the event was in the renovated original public library in Meriden. It is a half mile from Meriden’s train station that is poised for redevelopment.
Sarah Lewis of Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. ; Mary Ellen Kowalewski, AICP, director of policy planning, Capitol Region Council of Governments; Lawrence Kendzior, Meriden City Manager and Patrick McMahon, development director for the town of Windsor Locks each provided individual perspectives and detailing plans for the “Knowledge Corridor” development. John Hankins of Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. moderated.
On April 24th CBC’s program will feature a discussion on doing business with the State of Connecticut in the wake of the UConn Law Library State Supreme Court decision exempting the state from any statutes of limitations and allowing it to pursue claims against design and construction firms several years after project completion. The program will be held in Hartford.
