Cambridge, MA and Ann Arbor, MI – The University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers has selected TK&A to design its new 500,000 sf clinical pathology laboratory and administrative support building on its Ann Arbor campus. This multi-user facility will address immediate and future departmental needs, improve efficiencies through consolidation, and provide longer-term flexibility for UMHHC. Sited on the environmentally sensitive corner of Washington Heights Drive and East Medical Center Drive, the building will provide a unique new gateway to the adjacent Nichols Arboretum.
The design and massing will also create opportunities for pedestrian access to the arboretum and connections to the nearby Ronald McDonald House, while simultaneously providing mission-critical, state-of-the-art clinical pathology services for UMHC and to patients.
