Bridgewater, MA and Shelton, CT – Callahan, Inc. recently broke ground on Benchmark Senior Living at Split Rock, a state-of-the-art assisted living community in Shelton, CT. The 73,000 square foot LEED certified community will feature studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. There will also be a 20 unit, memory care wing for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
“The wing specializing in memory care will be a tremendous asset to the community,” said Patrick Callahan, President of Callahan, Inc. “Unfortunately, more and more elders are faced with loss of memory and dementia and this new community will also help families deal with those unique challenges.”
Callahan, Inc. is providing construction management services for the 92-unit community. The building features a combination of a panelized, EIFS and clapboard façade, asphalt shingling, and accent metal standing seam roof. Amenities include a main dining room and private dining, a bistro/pub, and library. The community will also feature an exercise room and a beauty salon with spa and wellness suite. Benchmark Senior Living at Split Rock is scheduled to open in May 2014.
