Wallingford, CT –The New England office of Burns &McDonnell announced that Avon, CT resident Shawn Briggs will be joining their Energy division as a Project Manager.
Briggs will have a leadership role at Burns & McDonnell working on the development of their energy global practice. Briggs’ focus will be on new generation of energy which includes thermal generation, transmission and distribution, as well as nuclear generation projects.
“I’m really excited about the culture here at Burns & McDonnell and also about the opportunity to be involved in some of the industry’s largest projects,” said Shawn Briggs. “I’m looking forward to both the challenges that I will face and the fun that I will have in my new position.”
Most recently Briggs was a Project Manager with The AES Corporation of Arlington, Virginia where he was responsible for the development of wind energy projects. In his role he managed multi-million dollar engineering and consulting contracts necessary to support project needs, led all aspects of the permitting process, and was responsible for a myriad of other duties. He brings over 19 years of experience in development, permitting, engineering, procurement and construction in the power generation arena to Burns & McDonnell.

Briggs, a Connecticut native, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management from Central Connecticut State University.
