Everett, MA -BOND (Bond Brothers) Civil & Utility division was awarded the prestigious, Award of the Year from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) for the MIT/ Lincoln Laboratory HUSIR Replacement Project.
BOND was acknowledged for exemplary work on the MIT/LL HUSIR project with the 2011 Renovation/Modernization (construction less than $10 Million) Award of the Year.
The Awards Committee, composed of owners and professional construction managers, considered overall outcome, quality and safety management, cost and schedule management, safety, complexity, innovation and customer satisfaction as the basis for the award. The Committee described the project as “complex, unique, and a success.”
BOND served as the general contractor on the intricate rigging and heavy lift project which involved removing a 150-foot diameter geodesic radome covering a high security satellite imaging radar system, known as the Haystack Ultra-Wideband Satellite Imaging Radar (HUSIR). Key stakeholders also acknowledged at the ceremony were Keystone Construction & Maintenance Services, Inc. and The Hallamore Corp., as vital organizations in the completion of the unique project.
